My Story

Who I Am

People often ask me how a chartered accountant from Australia ended up advising embassies, shaping governance frameworks, and leading sustainability initiatives across continents. The truth is, it's never been about numbers or policies. It's always been about people.

I was raised with the belief that leadership means serving, not ruling. During my early career at public institutions in South Africa, I witnessed firsthand how systems collapse when governance loses touch with humanity. That experience sparked something deep within me. I realized my calling wasn't just to solve problems but to reimagine how institutions can align, collaborate, and transform together.

This calling has guided me across sectors, countries, and disciplines. I've advised organizations ranging from the National Treasury of New South Wales to KLM/Air France. I've contributed to European Social Fund strategies and eventually found my way into the world of diplomacy. When I pursued my PhD in Corporate Governance and Board Effectiveness, it wasn't for academic recognition. I needed to ground my practical work in theory that could drive meaningful change in the real world.

Through all these experiences, my core purpose crystallized into two interconnected missions. As Co-Founder and Chairman of SKI Asia, I channel this philosophy into empowering communities through knowledge-driven sustainability, recognizing that environmental stewardship and social progress are inseparable. Simultaneously, as Continental Chair for the Asia Council at the Spirit of the Game Foundation, I champion the belief that true success comes from personal accountability and ethical leadership that serves something greater than ourselves.

These roles aren't separate endeavors. They're expressions of the same fundamental truth I've discovered throughout my journey: sustainable change happens when we bridge the gap between institutional capability and human purpose. Whether I'm facilitating diplomatic collaborations, designing governance frameworks for SDG impact, or cultivating next-generation leaders across Asia-Pacific, the thread remains constant.

Today, I partner with embassies and international organizations to build trust across borders while simultaneously fostering the leadership mindset needed for our shared sustainable future. I design governance frameworks that amplify impact, facilitate multilateral alignment, and transform institutional presence into transformative influence. Everything I create is rooted in transparency, shared purpose, and values because I've learned that lasting change requires both structural innovation and personal transformation.

This work runs deeper than professional ambition for me. It's intensely personal. I've seen the extraordinary possibilities that emerge when institutions operate with integrity and when leaders embrace accountability for their impact on the world. I understand the consequences when they don't. Every project I undertake, whether advancing diplomatic effectiveness, accelerating sustainability education, or developing ethical leaders, is guided by care, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to advancing humanity.

I'm not here to impress. I'm here to serve by helping institutions and individuals envision what they could become and walking alongside them as they become it. One partnership, one alignment, one breakthrough at a time.
